Christian Formation
We provide a variety of opportunities for those of all ages to grow in their relationship with God in Jesus Christ. Sunday School Classes, Children’s Chapel, Adult Bible Study, Vacation Bible School, Lenten Programs, Prayer Groups, Diocesan Programs, Spiritual Retreats (local and Diocesan), Summer Camp, Special Music, and Drama Programs are just some of the offerings throughout the year. Our monthly newsletter, St. Timothy’s Tidings, will keep you updated on these programs. Call the church office to be put on the mailing list.
Fellowship Opportunities
We like to get together for fun! Often, that fun involves food of some sort. Second Sunday Lunch, picnics for various occasions, covered dish dinners, breakfasts, monthly Game Night, Women’s Christmas party, the Greening of the Church (decorating for Christmas), the monthly Lunch Bunch, and Women’s Dinner & a Book group are all times when we gather to be nourished by food and fellowship.
Outings are also planned for bowling, ball games, golf, and youth activities. We welcome suggestions for fellowship activities, so please don’t hesitate to share your ideas with us.
Children & Youth
At St. Timothy’s, children and youth are a high priority. Children and young people are encouraged to participate in all aspects of church life. A well attended nursery and a creative Children’s Chapel is available for use during worship. Activity bags and children’s books are available at the entrance to the sanctuary for children to use during worship.
Our youth are very active as acolytes, assistants with Children’s Ministry activities, lectors, and in Diocesan youth activities. Our young people are represented on the Vestry. For more information on youth activities, please contact the Rector. Adults are always welcome to help provide leadership and transportation.
Sunday Morning Ministries
It takes many people to make the Sunday morning education and worship experience positive and spiritually rich. We invite you to consider participating in one or more of these ministries. Training is available for all ministries. The following is a list of possibilities: music (vocal and instrumental), acolyte, usher, altar guild, chalice bearer, lector, greeter, coffee maker, coffee clean up person, Sunday School teacher, Children’s Chapel leader, and Nursery attendant. Also, older children and middle and high school young people are needed to assist in all of these ministries.
Ministry Opportunities:
Ready-Set-Go Preschool
Children from ages 2-4 are provided a quality preschool education five days a week at Ready-Set-Go. The 2007-2008 school year will be our 14th year of offering this ministry to the children of our community. For more information, contact Marcy Benincasa, Director, at 562-2067.
Christian Community Cupboard (CCC)
We work with 13 other churches in the area to provide food for the hungry through the CCC. Food donations can be brought to the church at any time. Twice a year volunteers from St. Timothy’s staff the CCC for two weeks at a time. Children collect a special cash offering once a month during worship, and the CCC is in our yearly budget.
Rea of Hope Fellowship Home
We support this ministry to women who are recovering from drug and alcohol addiction through donations, serving meals, and leadership. For more information, contact the Rector.
